Group, FT Island, gets involved in plagiarism issues.
Some fans pointed out that “Bing Bing Bing”, one of the tracks from FT Island’s latest release, resembles English band, McFly’s “Five Colours In Her Hair”.
According to the Korea Music Copyright Association, the composer for “Bing Bing Bing” was registered under the name “HOONY”, and without any statements of samplings or remakes of the song. There were no ways to contact FT Island’s management either.
After the revision of laws made in 1999 by the Korea Ethics Committee of Public Performance, the committee is now even more stringent in checking for plagiarism than before.
The issue of plagarism is now an offense, subject to complaint. Without the consent from the original composers, samplings and remakes of songs will be deemed as plagiarism.
FT Island is currently promoting their title song “Barae”.

Oh my..
It’s the first time that I hear the song of MCfly, the background musics of Bing and that songs sound alike..
But it’s not FTI’s fault right? I’m sure that they’ve never heard of MCfly’s song and couldn’t say anything.. It’s the composer’s fault :S
I hope that they’ll by okay :O FTI FIGHTING!
I thought they sound alike too when I first heard Bing Bing Bing but it’s just the intro, and not even that similar.
i listened to mcfly’s version…only the beginning sounds similar. it’s possible like Noam said, they probably would’ve never heard mcfly’s version.
oh well,i hope this doesn’t bring the boys down.
i still support them.
I dont care,
as long i love this five boys <3
[...] site Primanoona publicou uma notícia sobre o possível plágio da banda coreana FT Island da música Five Colours [...]
lol…its not like McFly is the only one who got an idea to create that sound =.=
as a fan of both ft island and mcfly, i noticed the uncanny similarity between five colours in her hair and bing bing bing the moment i heard the latter. although it was mcfly who had composed the song first, fti couldn’t have heard this rather old song from the british band. besides, the unique sound mcfly had in their earlier years was influenced by the legendary beatles thus the composer could have come up with something similar. it must have been purely coincidental or the composer’s fault.
SAVE FTI!!!
