FT Island’s Singapore 2010 Fanmeet + Fansign

As promised in my earlier post regarding more (and MORE!) Asian activities for FT Island, here are further details regarding the SINGAPORE 2010 fanmeeting:
Unlike the showcase details, the fanmeet & fansign details this time is a little more complicated as it involves a few tiers in the ticketing. Do read up the below details first, and if you have any question, you can reply on the comments section (or email us), and we will respond to you accordingly ^__^

Day/Date: Friday, 29 January 2010
Time: 7:30pm
Venue: IMM Garden Plaza (MAP)Fansign Event Flow: FT Island will only sign Official Fanmeet CDs (only 300 are available), and every fan’s official CD will get signature from only ONE random FT Island member (i.e. the next available “slot” style).
Only fans who are holding the 300 Official Fanmeet CDs, will be admitted into the queue for the fansigning.

Time: 3pm
Venue: Dragonfly @ St. James Powerstation (MAP)Fanmeet & Handshake Event Flow: Fanmeet Event will be followed by Handshake Event, where every fan holding a Fanmeet ticket, will get a handshake from ONE random FT Island member only (similar to Fansign style).
The fanmeet event will be a free-standing event.
Rough listing of activities during the fanmeet
(This list is not finalized and is still very much subject to changes):- 2 Songs by FT.triple
- FT Island‘s fan interaction session (e.g. play games) with the fans, Question and Answer Session, etc
- 3 Songs by FT Island
- 1 Song by Lee Hong Ki (from “You’re Beautiful” drama)
- Finale (1 song by FT Island) (Tentative)
- Handshake Session
TICKET PRICING
Event is open for public, but there are limited numbers of tickets sold.
PRICE CATEGORY 1 – S$150 (Total Tickets for Sale = 300)
Inclusive of:
- 1 (One) Ticket to Fansign @ IMM Garden Plaza
- 1 (One) Official Fanmeet CD for Fansign @ IMM Garden Plaza
- 1 (One) Ticket to Fanmeet & Handshake @ DragonflyPRICE CATEGORY 2 – S$100 (Total Tickets for Sale = 400)
Inclusive of:
- 1 (One) Ticket to Fanmeet & Handshake @ Dragonfly
LOCAL TICKETS SALES (All categories)
Tickets sale will be open for public, with the following details:
Day/Date: Saturday, 19 December 2009
Time: 1pm – 7pm
Venue: IMM Building (MAP) Exact location within IMM, to be updated soonNote: There will only be limited number of tickets for sale.
There will only be 300 tickets for sale for Category 1 (S$150), and
400 tickets for sale for Category 2 (S$100) up for grabs. Once these tickets are sold out, there are NO additional tickets sold to the event. However, if there are still tickets after the first day of sale, tickets will be still sold at IMM.EXCLUSIVE POSTER will be given for every ticket purchased at IMM on Launch Day on the 19th of December between 1-7pm, while stocks last
OVERSEAS TICKET SALES (All categories)
Reserved tickets for overseas fans:
- 30 (Thirty) CATEGORY 1 Tickets @ S$150 each
- 50 (Fifty) CATEGORY 2 Tickets @ S$100 eachThe above reserved tickets are part of the limited total number of tickets sold (i.e. 300 and 400 in overall). Overseas tickets sales are by first come/pay, first serve basis.
Payment for overseas tickets purchases are ONLY by a secure online payment method, Paypal (plus charges applied). Posters will be given as long as stocks last only, and payment (by paypal) has to be received by 30 December 2009, or your purchase will be cancelled.

But only those who buy the tickets on 19 Dec, 1-7pm, will get the Exclusive Poster, while stocks last.

Tixs will still be on sale at IMM after that. However poster will only be given to tixs bought on 19th at the slotted time.
For the autograh, the album will b given free to those buying $150 tix. As only the $150 tix is entitled to fansign.

wow! i was just about to buy the sundown tickets after thinking about it for a month. Now i have to think real hard again cause i only have money for one.
hmm, so it will still be at Dragonfly @ St. James Powerstation, and free standing like last time? I got some suggestion, why don’t you guys arrange it to be seated ? as most of the fanmeet event will be seated right? and also may I know how long is the event will be? and also, will they be singing a few songs for the fanmeet?

– I am confuse with the first 2. Could you explain if there is any different to it.
3) I am singaporean but i am working overseas. Do i consider as local or overseas fans and if i am classified as overseas fans, could i pay through bank transfer instead of paypal as back transfer is faster and safer or could i send cash cheque over which could be bank in immediately/exchange for cash with the bank immediately.
Hope you could clear my doubts as i have to make arrangement.

1. Yes, If you buy the S$150 package, you will be under the 300, as this group will be the only ones getting the Official Fanmeet CDs.
2. No difference. It’s just to breakdown the units: “actual entry to fansign” and “physical CD for fansigning”.
They’re referring to the same event for fansigning.
3. Basically for locals, the tickets will start selling on 19th Dec 09 at IMM. Thereafter, if there are still tickets to sell, you can still buy the tickets at IMM, but you will not get the Exclusive Launch Day Poster when you purchase.
Regarding your bank transfer question, will get back to you again in a while. ^__^

Just to clarify, that tickets will be sold at IMM, until the tickets finish selling.
On the 19th December 2009, 1pm the tickets will start selling.
All the tickets purchased on 19 Dec 09 (i.e. Launch Day) between 1pm to 7pm, will get Exclusive Poster, while stocks last.
If tickets do not finish selling after 7pm on 19 Dec, the tickets will subsequently be sold over the Customer Service counter at IMM, until it is finished. (But no poster will be given out)
In other words, you can still buy a week later, if there are still tickets available.
Alternatively, you can get a friend / relative to help you buy the tickets on the Launch day?

Unfortunately there isnt much choice as FTI will b bz from Feb onwards so the only date avail is 30 Jan n the seated venues that can support reasonable sound system for a band are all fully book. Its either this or no more

There is no limit in the purchase of tickets till date. So u can help your frens to get if they are not able to make it on 19th Dec.

But yeah i don’t really get why it’s at random..the reason can’t be that the area is too small for fans to queue up for each member’s autograph cause Fahrenheit had their fansign event at IMM Garden Plaza too and everyone got to get their tickets autographed by all the members.
If you could feedback to the organizers, that’ll be amazingly fantastic cause i do think many other fans really want to shake hands and have their cds autographed by all the members (:

The Official Fanmeet CD will be FT Island’s Cross & Change Album, directly from Korea.
Only the CDs purchased at the Fanmeet Ticket Sales, will be taken as Official Fanmeet CD. (There are only 300 CDs in total)
So that means we are only entitled to have one CD signed? Because my friend purchased the Cross & Change album online, and it’s imported from Korea. She can’t go so I wanna help her get a signature.. is it possible to have 2 CDs signed? One purchased at the ticket sales and one is my friend’s..
Only the CDs purchased through the organizers (total of 300 CDs only), will be signed by FT Island.
Other Cross & Change CDs or any other CDs which are not purchased through the organizers through this event, are not entitled to be signed at the FanSigning.
Only ONE official CD is entitled to ONE signature from ONE random FT Island member.

I find the pricing of the tickets a little ridiculous.. For the showcase they sang more than 10 songs and it lasted more than an hour and it cost $100, so why should the fanmeet cost $100 as well when they are only going to sing about 5 songs + one handshake? :s I hope the organizers know that FTI’s most ardent fans are the teenagers below 20 years and it will be pointless to hold the event if the supportive fans cannot go just because of money matters :/

^ agree with you, I think the pricing is way too expensive. I mean almost all FT fans are students and you possible want a student to pay that amount, not all students are that rich.
And I don’t think some will have enough money to buy the ticket on 19 dec as its just 1 week after the seoul out concert and I bet everyone would be using their money to chase after FT and therefore they wouldn’t have enough money to buy the ticket on time, is it possible to change the date of ticketing? (just my suggestion to you)
And why do we have to follow Korean style for fansign? Can’t we just have it the singapore style, let every members sign the album instead of randomly, I beg everyone would like to have their favorite signature and I think not everyone would be that happy to pay that amount of money to get another member instead of their favorite signature, am I right?
And I really hope you would reconsider the price and also the fansign method, please discuss it with DE.

Not only we get 5 fan signs, but five handshakes, a picture with all the boys solo and at least 20 song marathon songs to make it all worthwhile…
The best part is that there are seats, we don’t have to queue and we can pre-order our CD of choice..hehe

The fansign n handshake method is instructed by FnC itself as it is quite tiring for the boys if they have to shake like more than 500 over pple. so its not the choice of the organiser here. Its either this or none
In regards to the tix price, FTI has since risen up in popularity esp Hongki after the recent drama so the cost of bringing them increases along w the airtix, accomodation, food n other misc. The $100 pricing is the same for the showcase held earlier tis year and this time u can get up close with them instead of just seeing them below the stage ^___^
Since you guys are the organizer so did you guys ever try to negotiate for us? (for the fansign)
but it would also be tiring for them if they are also shaking everyone hands randomly. Sounds no different to me for not shaking everyone hands accordingly. Since it will also be that amount of people going for the fanmeeting and fansign.

I think the organizers deserve some merit.
I’m sure they did negotiate whatever things that they can with the Korean side, but because of different factors or concerns, probably not a lot of things can be achieved like in ideal situation.
I’m just saying, that whatever event mechanism that has been finalized by the organizer, must have gone through a lot of planning, consideration, and negotiation with the Korean side, to eventually reach a compromise.
Granted, the timing may not be the best timing, as this visit is a little too near with the Sundown visit.
However, probably we should take the positive point,…. that it will give you more chances to see the boys up close in Singapore (as opposed to paying much more for a flight ticket to Seoul to visit them).
And just to illustrate another point here….
There IS really a big difference between “handshake with ONE random FT Island member” and “handshake with all 5 FT Island members”.
(Assuming all 700 tickets are sold) If you get one handshake from a random member, each FT Island member will need to shake hands with only 140 fans.
But if you get to handshake with all 5 members, each FT Island member will need to shake hands with 700 fans. That’s a lot of time difference >.<

The organisers did negotiate for all members for the handshake n fansign. Unfortunately FnC requested for such arrangement n if not there will be none at all. So its like your luck againist nothing at all.
Think of it in a positive way, at least u can get up stage n get near the members up close as they were will be in their seats as to just watching them from the stage below so in a way still not a bad deal.
As jjnn put it, its alot of difference in the numbers that the boys have to sign n handshake. So imagine the boys shaking 700 over hands. Can b quite tiring.
The organisers are still workin w them to have more interaction time as they understand fans wishes to get up close.
Please go ask around whether handshake or fansign, which is more tiring?!
Majority will tell you is fansign and not handshake. Handshake is so much relaxing then fansign as they only need to shake hand with fans instead of MOVING their hands.
sorry berry but i think you should put yourself in the organiser’s shoes. it’s really difficult to get overseas artist to come here expecially those as popular as ftisland…you can just look at the amount of korea artist that comes here…no one is forcing you to buy the tix and meet them…you have money then go. if dont have then just stay at home and use your computer k
I did put myself in Fans shoes. I think of the fans here first, reason is, fans over here are STUDENTS. Ya, I know that it’s very hard to bring a korean artist to singapore but did you ever put yourself in fans shoes? I think no, you might only think of yourself.
I voice it out because I think of others and not myself first. And since when did I ever mention that I don’t have the money to go?
And for your information, I have more then enough money to go that event but of course, I think of others first~

Or why not the organisers should just let those who go for fansign to have 5 autograph of theirs? since theres only 300 tickets. & those 300 people had pay more for it. So, i guess they should deserve that.

But seriously the ticket is really far to expensive another point is the ticket is only sold just after FTI left.. Most of us had already have a tight budget for them coming and yet we have to buy the fan meeting ticket after then?! At least early next month at least most of us had save enough or taken paid.
I really wanted to attend but the time and ticket is too ex.
And most importantly is randomly picked for both fan sign n handshake. Suddenly feel so not worth for me to spend for this event. I hope you all could give us a better pricing and better benefit.. =]

1) is the album sold for the fansign be the 3rd album Cross & Change or the Repackage version, Double Date ?
2) are they going to do any singing on the fansign event ?

whoa. so many issues regarding the price. i think its okay for such a price but maybe the time they will sell the tickets is too near for a short notice. To gain $100 within two weeks is kinda.. hard. >.< maybe if they can postpone only the selling of the tickets to end of december or early january ? Just a suggestion though to clear up the problem here.

i’m 14 and still underage to get a job, its not like i dont want to look for one, but there isn’t a job that i can really do. my parents give me just 20$ a week, its totally impossible to save up 100 or even 150 by this sat.
IMHO, i think it is good that people express their opinions so that the organiser can do something about it to accomodate to the people.
if nothing can be done, then i’m fine with it. but i’ll still be going.
If the consumer cannot purchase it, this could turn out to be a failed event if the organiser cannot even break-even. There needs to be sufficient financial incentive for both FNC and the organisers to make this trip worthwhile.
Working adults would not think twice abt a few hundred $$, but its a different case here.
FTI’s fan demographic is highly skewed and the market here is generally small and untapped.
Given that the FTI fans here in SG are mostly teens who are still schooling and are getting allowances from their parents, its well worth getting timely feedback…

I know its so difficult to accept the pricing.
But, I think we should be more understanding towards the situation as well.
Dont spend your time quarreling with other people here, its kinda sad to see prims arguing with other prims.
I think, the organisers would need your support.
If this event is a failure, the Korean organizers will feel that Singaporeans has no interest in their bands & I dont think they will want to bring other bands back here.
The organizers will have to do a lot of preparations.
Have you all thought about that?
How about the booking of the power station?
The Fan-signing venue?
The hotels , their tickets, their food & their transport?
There are ALOT of things they have to prepare for these guys you know?
Now, I just think you all should calm down. Try to save money & wait for other updates.
Because I believe the Prim admins will be trying their best to feedback to the organizers.
So, I dont think we, as fans, should complain & add on to their stress?

Yes, it’s not that straight forward to bring a Korean act to Singapore. Well, at least not as easy as bringing other countries’ artists, probably.
Probably local fans should think of it differently…. and compare it with actually going to Korea to see them. The fanmeet ticket price will definitely seem cheaper ^__^
On a sidenote, I’ve been moderating all the comments now, and they are indeed growing less and less pleasant.

just my opinion, i think the ticket price is quite reasonable because comparing it to the MINOZ fanmeeting (which i feel is a total rip-off), FTI Fanmeet is much more worth it!

all I can say that it isn’t huge or anything but normal? there’s like this playground at the side and stuff. open air. it’s comparable to j8′s open space area where many signing events have been held? maybe slightly bigger? but it CAN hold 300 fans according to my estimation. hahaah.

Hello ! I wanted to say this last time but the comments were off then. Actually, I think the tickets prices are not THAT bad. For one thing, even if it was taiwan artistes that came to Singapore, we still have to pay ard $100 for their concerts. And there’re many more people attending those concerts. Since FTI’s is in dragonfly, we’ll be able to see the boys up much closer (:
Besides, the only way for the tix to be cheaper if for them to hold a bigger concert which is not that possible since I dont think they have that many fans in Singapore.
So yeap ohwell let’s just make do with what we have ((:

MJ, the contract has been signed so no worries about the contract fall thru. There were concerns over this during their last trip here in June which saw a huge success of the showcase…
The fansign will be held at the Garden Plaza so space wise it shouldnt be a problem as the 300 fans who bought the $150 tixs will be in front.

those who r camping over night right, is there going to be a queue somewhere n people writing down names in a list in order? because the mall doesnt even open that early right? then if once the mall open then everybody rush in then the whole queue disrupted n those who come so early also come for nothing…
yeah, im not going to queue overnight but shall we fans together decide on one place to start the queue? like the entrance where they drop off people from the shuttle bus? let’s start the queue there or sth and the first fan who reach the place, take the initiative to start the queue number rolling and write down how many tix you will be buying if its more than 1… like that the fans behind will roughly know if they will make it into the first 300?
like how the first few fans last weekend at fort canning started the namelist and gave us hope when that fedora organizer girl like just ask the fans on the road to move away… and the fans at the back that dont have intergrity just run infront lol…heck…im so pissed by her that i wanted to take her photo and post on facebook LOL!
and this way it will also cause less obstructions for the mall? just my opinion =)

Since FT’s a korean band, can we do the queuing thing korean style? Like how they do it for the korean music shows like music bank and inkigayo?
Basically the first person who arrives will start up a list or something like that to keep record of who comes first.
i.e. what was done during the Seoul’d out festival.
It’s a really organised and fair system and I think everyone who gets in the queue and even FT wouldnt want “fans” who lack morals and integrity to cut queue!
The list of names was lost in the Seoul’d out festival during the time that it was needed the most. -_-
